About Me

Hello My Name Is Ronny J Press from Philadelphia, PA. Ever since I was younger growing up in the heart of South Philly.  I wanted to be in the music industry in some form or fashion. My Mother Katrina Washington brought me my first radio and L.L. Cool J cassette tape. I would listen to my radio everyday after school. I feel in love with hip-hop music from that point on.

My mother instilled the importance of education. I decided to attend Lincoln University for Business Administration. My dreams began to take shape the moment I was a young freshmen on campus. I was given an opportunity to be DJ on Lincoln's college radio station. I loved being on radio station it's one my favorite pastime to this day. I am so determined to continue to build my resume so I landed an internship with Power99fm-WUSL. This experience for me was just priceless being able to meet people who craved the same desires as me.

My vision was still in place even after the internship but my drive just slow down. In the winter of 2008 visited Full Sail University for orientation in Orlando, FL. The school opens my eyes again on the road I still had to travel. Due some financial aid reasons unable to attend at that time. But now happy to say I am a Grad Student of the EBMS Master's Program. I would like to follow you this new blog I created:

I created the Essence of Hip-Hop Blog because lately the music industry neglects the true roots of the culture. There are four pillars of hip-hop: 1. DeeJaying 2. Mic (Rapper) 3. B-Boy (Dancing) 4. Graffiti. My main objective is to start a independent record label to put hip-hop essence back into the cultural. My company will promote Hip-Hop artists and R&B with creative sounds.
